The importance of developing a health care plan.
We all hope and dream of being healthy until the end of our days, but throughout our lives we
grow and change and sometime in our thirties we level off and then begin to face the
inevitable fact that we are growing older. Parts of us are not as nimble as when we were kids.
By keeping simple maintenance records of ourselves (as we do with our houses/vehicles
and most things important to us), enables us to anticipate change. To be ready with detailed
information when emergencies arise is not taught in most schools or advocated by health care
insurance plans. HonestMed was developed to help organize, record and find your important
heath records when you need it most.
As a free service of Honest Med, our goal is to provide the world a safe/secure website for
you to compile and access your personal health information. As the founder of HonestMed,
father of five children and a health care professional, I recognize the need to have access to
our medical records at all times, but not to have to carry them with us. I also don't want to be
at the mercy of a heath care provider, insurance or greedy software company that would limit
my access to my own information and force me to pay additional monies for what is
fundamentally mine! Our federal government has worked to provide free to every citizen
through the Patient's Bill of Rights (featured on the main page of HonestMed).
Our site is intended to provide the following and will be continually developed links to
address and answer patient questions and concerns.
1) In the event of an emergency, you can access your records at any computer with Internet
access, simply by entering your name and a password, known only to you.
2) Aid you in accessing basic medical information developed through years of research and
medical expertise from the best professionals in the world.
3) Help to direct you to honest websites that can answer your health care questions.
4) Un-clutter the vast amount of information now available on the Internet. Our staff is carefully
linking sites to ours that provide information that will speed your effort. You still have a choice to
search the millions of sites found on the internet, we just feel a few straight forward sites that will
get you quality information is valuable.
